Essbee's story

My first BiCon, last year in Worcester.

I attended my first BiCon last year in Worcester. I didn't really know what to expect though did know some people who had been to previous BiCons (some very many BiCons!). My first day there was a bit of a culture shock. I didn't know many people and everyone seemed to be long term friends, but by my first night there I already didn't want to go home at the end of the weekend.

I met so many lovely and interesting people, had fun learning in the various workshops I attended and had a brilliant time at the ball where I felt comfortable for the first time in my life to wear whatever I felt like wearing knowing that I would not be judged.

I already knew I was bisexual many years ago, but BiCon is a time to learn more about yourself in an accepting setting and I cant wait to attend this years BiCon both as an organiser and as a member.
